Community-Based Fuels Reduction

HWMO's fuels reduction projects have been effective in encouraging community involvement to drastically decrease fire fuels such as dry tree snags, grasses, and greenwaste. Without these fuels, fires are far less likely to encroach on communities, and threaten homes, infrastructure, and human lives.

These projects have been extremely effectively to date, in part due to the highly motivated communities of responsible residents with whom we have partnered with. We have been assisting these the communities with funding, planning processes, and follow-up oversight.
